Part of the problem is also that difficulty is also quite subjective, which makes games hard to balance and a process over time (As feedback is acquired). So as long as you get to jump you can seek out the sector with energy. However, usually the amount of hyperspace jumps available is high if you have enough hyperdrives to support your ship's mass.

This is completely dependent on the difficulty level. I don't have techblocks left to build another 4 solar panels which should do the trick for now. My current ship has 4 of them but still has not enough energy to run without a reactor. I have yet to find a source of techblocks for instance, which are required for solar panels. In most cases you run out of one of these resources and your crew dies.Īlso, some resources can't be gathered via salvaging operations. I had maybe explored 1/4 of the galaxy and I just harvested around 20% of the resources of the special resource-abundant cluster.Īctually, I'd be happy to build a ship that simply does not run out of energy, water and food. This is from my last game, I had plenty of resources and nothing else to do than to find Eden:Įdit: Not seen in the screenshot: I had 100+ of ice, base metals, noble metals etc. You can have a self-sufficient ship (as in: everything implemented and it can build anything, but of course you need constant supplies of resources). I'm not sure if one can produce a "self-sufficient" starship with the features and tech implemented yet, but I think that's what we need in the long run.
